Bellows for Volvo Penta Drives
Nordicar Marine has a wide range of bellows in stock. Usually bellows suffer from the frequent movements, salt water and contaminations from immersion in water and exposure to UV rays from the sun. If the rubber perishes and cracks moisture or water enters which will ruin the U/J joints.
This leads to drive failures and expensive repairs. It is obviously of great importantce to inspect and when nessecary replace old bellows timely.

Operation of a bellows
Rubber bellows protect the universal joints of the driveshaft or prevent water from entering the vessel. Due to the high pressure on the bellows, we only sell high quality bellows. On the inside of the bellows there is a steel reinforcement and a number of hose clamps that ensure that the bellows have more strength.
Replacing a bellows
It is important to check the bellows of the exhaust and universal joint every year. This is best done if you clean the engine, gearbox and drive with degreasing detergent and tap water. The bellows must be replaced as soon as it is leaking or cracked. When replacing the bellows, the stern-drive must also be disassembled, this is a difficult job. You can do this yourself, but then it is important that you are an experienced do-it-yourselfer and read the manual carefully.
